WestAI is a central point of contact for small and medium-sized companies, start-ups and research institutions. Our aim is to promote AI research in Germany and facilitate its transfer into practice. We focus on so-called multimodal AI systems that can process other data in addition to text, such as audio, image, 3D and sensor data. This significantly increases the potential of AI applications.

Whether you have previous knowledge of Artificial Intelligence or not, WestAI will accompany you on your AI journey. We answer open questions, analyze your individual problem, develop prototypes with multimodal AI models, train you or your employees and provide you with access to state-of-the-art AI computing resources. Use our state-of-the-art hardware for your AI

WestAI’s computing infrastructure in Aachen and Jülich can be used to conduct large-scale AI experiments. Our experts will be happy to assist you. We attach great importance to data security.

Researchers can make direct use of computing or storage time via a computing time application. We personally guide interested parties from companies through the application process.

Trainings & Courses

We convey extensive AI knowledge

Our training and education offerings are specifically tailored to the WestAI services. Our consortium partners enhance these with relevant content from their respective programs based on the current state of research. For example, we offer certified training courses on deep learning and large-scale model training, including efficient transfer learning and domain adaptation. The necessary key technologies for machine learning on parallel computing systems and data management are also covered.

Ai.Lab

Try out your AI on your own

In the AI.Lab, users can easily try out their own multimodal AI models or those developed with us. Alternatively, the use cases can also be run locally in the protected IT environment of your own institution. Our experts are also available here on request.

The AI.Lab, operated by KI.NRW and Fraunhofer IAIS, is part of the European AI on Demand (AIoD) initiative, supported by the European Commission and the Ministry of Economic Affairs in North Rhine-Westphalia.
